How to File/Lodge and Register Online FIR Step by Step in India



‘FIRST INFORMATION REPORT’ which is known as FIR. The procedure of FIR mentioned under section 154 Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
 

WHO CAN LODGE A FIR 


 The complaint is lodged by the victim of an offense or someone on his or her behalf and also that person who has been seen the commission of an offense. FIR made or receive to the police officer of an offense. Anyone can make an FIR either orally or in writing to the police. Now a day’s people can also lodge FIR though online. The police department in different states has also introduced an online system of register FIR. This system saves time and also it is harassment-free procedure, so large number of FIR s being filled online. This system better to conduct quick follow up and response to the complaint.




 

FOLLOW THE SIMPLE STEPS TO FILE A FIR ONLINE



1. KOLKATA

Step 1:  Go to the official website of the Kolkata police (www.kolkatapolice.gov.in).
Step 2: Go to the menu bar and select the FIRs option.
Step 3: Fill properly the information and select the submit button
Step 4: Detailing the crime properly,  enter your existing email id and security code.
Step 5: Click the send button.
 
After that your complaint will be registered with Kolkata Police, after registration of complaint you will receive a confirmation mail to your email.
 
 
 
2. MUMBAI

Step 1: Go to the official website of Mumbai Police (www.mumbaipolice.maharastra.gov.in)
Step 2:  Fill up properly complaint from.
Step 3: Click on Submit Button once you finish the complaint from.
Step 4: Then you will get an OTP (one-time-password) on your email ID.
Step 5: Enter the code, which you have received on your email ID.
Step 6: Click on Submit Button after completion of the complaint.


After that your complaint will be registered with Mumbai Police, after registration of complaint you will receive a confirmation mail to your email.

 
3. DELHI

Step 1: Go to the official website of Delhi Police (www.delhipolice.nic.in)
Step 2: Select ‘Services’ Option
Step 3:  choose the option of complaints types.
Step 4:  File your complaint properly.
Step 5: After submission your complaint, you will receive a copy of  FIR in PDF from. Download the PDF & take a print out this PDF.

 
4. CHENNAI

Step 1: Go to the official website of Tamil Nadu Police. (https://eservices.tnpolice.gov.in/CCTNSNICSDC/Index?0)
Step 2: Choose your Online Service Option.
Step 3: Fill the properly information asked for in the menu.
Step 4:  If you want to attach any documents proof along with your complaint then maximum file size should be 4 MB. 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU FILE AN ONLINE FIR:

1. Enter the name of Complainant
2. Enter the name of Complainant’s parent’s name.
3. Enter the address of Complainant.
4. Enter the mobile no of Complainant.
5. Enter the email ID of Complainant.
6. Date of Occurrence.
7. Place of Occurrence.
